I have spent far too long trying to find a way to change this but can not find a way to do this after playing with preference and help.

My mother has trouble clearly seeing which cell is highlighted in excel documents. The default highlight colour is a pale bluish grey which is hard for her to distinguish from the grey gridlines of the remaining document. I have tried changing the gridline colour but this actually makes this worse as it becomes a dotted gridline.

If anyone has a solution to this it would be gratefully appreciated if they could share it:cool:

I don't think this is Excel specific. Go to System Preferences > Appearance and change the Highlight Colour. You may need to restart Excel before the change takes effect.

Thanks Alex, Your quick response is 100% what I needed! It may take a little getting used to seeing everything in the system change colour for selected items, but I guess it is a small price to pay for her;)
