so we have this FANTASTIC BRAND NEW macbook pro - its awsome

but like all idiots at midnight after a few bottles of good wine....

we decided to measure the screen....
as you do...

now imagine you want to write down the size....
so you have a PEN in your hand...

and you measure the screen
and while measureing the screen
you write little lines in INK on your new MBP screen....

soooooooo - if this was to happen how would you go about removing the ink from the lcd screen ???

please dont ask if this is a hyperthetical question cause i dont want to have to say no.....

many thanks in advance

Avoid using any cleaner that has ammonia in it. Do NOT use Windex. I read recently on TUAW that a good LCD cleaner has isopropyl alcohol in it (50/50 mix with distilled water I think).

Whatever you use, don't spray it on, apply the solvent to a microfibre cloth then wipe.

But take my advice at your own risk. I haven't cleaned an LCD screen.

Google is your friend, try a search with the words 'ballpoint ink LCD'.

But wait until you're sober to do the cleaning, don't want to make things worse...

This site (http://www.diylife.com/2007/09/03/how-to-get-ink-out-of-almost-anything/) says:

"If you've accidentely gotten ink on an LCD or flat-panel monitor screen, try rubbing carefully with a pencil eraser."

Hmmm , pen ink on an LCD.
You need to get iBozo for the screen and iKnucklehead for the keyboard. Its a little popup that appears on your laptop screen after dark and also shouts at you " Are you pissed again ? Get the hell away from me ! "

thanks everyone for your fantastic advice re this one :-)

i used a soft pencil eraser for 99 cents at coles....

that got the ink off but left other weird rubber marks on the screen - i then used a normal alcho-wipe to clean the screen and it looks like NEW
