crap - I dropped water on my keyboard. Didnt think it would have been a problem because it was just water but luck wasn't on my side. Now some keys are unresponsive. Can anyone recommend what kind of things should I try myself and any good repairers in Melbourne? Thanks.

Why is it that we see a topic like this every day?

Cant we just have an FAQ?

I reckon we could almost have a sticky saying: "Most Mactalk users recommend Apple repairs are carried out by Macmate" For all I care, you can then lock the thread.:)

Another vote for Macmate.

Might be time to recommend Next Byte, then :D

169 Bourke Street, or Shop 1, 399 Elizabeth Street.

Personally, I can't fault them.

Well, you can. I have to say however, that your post, after the last, suggests something bad; I just can't possibly believe macmate (http://macmate.com.au/) would not help you or did something dreadful. ;)

I can recommend Synergetic in East Kew. Very helpful, friendly and FAST

...I'm not saying that macmate are unhelpful, but it was just that everyone here was recommending macmate.

Just thought I'd recommend someone different, that's all :)

That's fair. I obviously misinterpreted your post. I do understand that there are other repairers that do a good job; so thank you for adding your tip. :)

Yes yes that sounds like a great idea.

Anyhoo - both of my babies are with him (mb + mbp). So its just me and my iPhone for the time being...
