View Full Version : Turn off burn verify in Leopard?

When I create a burn folder and burn it, it does just that, but then goes on to verify the data.

See, I like to live on the edge a little and wouldn't mind it skipping this step by default :p.

Is there any way I can turn it off, or do I have to keep just cancelling it once it gets to that stage?

If you do it through disk utility just uncheck the option to verify the burn.

I've just been clicking on the "Burn" button once you open up the Burn Folder itself.

There's no options to turn off verify that I can see in there.

Thanks for your help.

I, too, would love to see an answer to this question. I do a fair amount of burning that doesn't require verification and would benefit from speeding up the process. Thanks in advance!

Apparently this will work in terminal (have not tried it):

defaults write com.apple.DiscRecording DRBurnVerifyDiscKey -bool NO

[edit] Apparently this works in Tiger. Leopard? Who knows.

I'm using Leopard (10.5.5) and just cut and paste that line into Terminal and hit RETURN. I exited Terminal, burned a folder and it still verified.

Do I need to reboot the system after running the line in Terminal?

[EDIT] Nope, a reboot didn't help. =(
