Hi - I'm trying to create a panel advertisement for a job in Pages. Sigh. I need to send it as a *.jpg to the newspaper -they won't accept *.pdf. There must be a simple thing I can do here . . . . all help welcome. Soon, too - deadline's in an hour! Cheers, Andrew

Export it as PDF. Open it in Preview.

File > Save As...

Jpeg. Choose quality. Boom.

edit: And tell them that next time, you're submitting it in PDF, or your not buying adspace. Sounds like that news paper need to take a running jump out of the 90s.

Thanks for the tip - that works technically, but not aesthetically. I've done as you said and created a 10cm x 5cm panel in Pages which has pretty small (6pt) text on it. It comes up with really crappy resolution in the *.pdf, which gets even worse (unreadable) once it's a *.jpg (even at 'best quality' settings). Any further tips? Or should I simply create a BIG A4 sized page which I can then scale down? Andrew

PS: Yeah, it's not one of the Murdoch/Fairfax owned big city dailies . . .

OK - all sorted now. Made the ad BIG, then shrunk it . . . . Ciao, A
