Was checking in during my flight back to singapore when my bag strap broke and it fell. Upon checking, I found a dent in on the upper right corner of my powerbook and the small alu strip of the dvi-output(??) sticking out.

Am wondering if i can get a replacement lower case and how much would be the costs. Also, what other alternatives i got.

Advise anyone? Thanks in advance.

If you go through apple service, it WILL cost cost cost....

If you are a little handy you might be able to buy a dead PB and change it over. The worst thing is that if you did have warranty, it probably is a waste of time now. Most service dept will blame the drop on any problems you may have.

Take it to you local Applecentre and see if they will have a quick look at it and see what they say. Some resellers might help you out with a cheaper alternative.
