I bought a 512 stick from omni technologies for my 1.33 ghz ibook g4. Its a 200 pinn pc2700 ram chip and it dosen't work on my computer. Sometimes it dosen't turn on and sometimes it does reads the memory stick but then decides to freeze on me soon afer i turn it on. I decided to put it in another ibook 12 inch 1 ghz and it's working fine so far, but is only reasing 256 of the 512 memory? Anyone have any idea why its doing this? It seems to be a waste of a 256 stick to use it liek this. I understand the ibook 1ghz can only read pc2100? is there a way to change the ram setting to run it at this speed.
Any comments suggestioins help is welcome

Thanks!!

Sounds like a bodgy stick to me. I'd take it back for a full refund.

The RAM does in fact sound dodgey.

There is no way to "change" the speed of RAM, it will default to whatever speed is lowest. Either the speed the machine supports or the speed of the RAM.

Just return the RAM, and get some high quality, lifetime warranty RAM.
