Hey Guys
Okay HELP! As most of you know I had the new imac but i was having alot of problems with it. Anyways before I got my refund I actually backed up my iTunes Libary to a backup folder on my ipod that is formated to MAC...

Problem: I want my music from the ipod back onto my Windows Vista Ultimate PC.

Now I own a few iMac G3s. I pluged my iPod to one of them and could see all my files.. Now I want to transfer them from that to my pc...

Ive read all the tutorials to network them to my pc.. But the last step I get to before i cant go furthur is on vista i go to the RUN window.. type the ip of the mac.. the short user name and password and thats it.. it keeps saying wrong username of password...

Problem: I bought the mac off ebay.. The short name is some business and the password I edited to a password I like to use.. I am thinking maybe they had some password back then before i editied it?

try enabling root and using that account instead:

if that doesn't work, try networking your vista hard disk to your mac instead:

I am assuming you didn't buy that on ebay and don't know the password as well!

OK, so why not just do this :

1. Copy all the data from the ipod to the mac
2. Format the ipod in FAT32 using disk utility
3. Copy the data back onto the ipod
4. Connect the ipod to Vista and use it like that

Networking is a pain in the arse, I think you're better off sharing a folder in Vista (right click it i guess, to turn on sharing.. then make sure it's writable by every user) and then dumping the data on that via the G3.
