Im human Sometiems I forget to enject my hard drive that is connected to my airport extreme base station. I have to wait minutes with the beach ball off death unable to acceses or open anything before the computer goes.

"OOHHH the drive has disconnected right I see now"

It was so bad this morning that I had to reset my mac on the train. Is there any reason for this awful lag from failing to eject network disks/drives.

Any terminal line that stops OSX from being a big cry baby when it cant find a network drive or is there something more serious at play.

I mean It is a laptop I shouldnt have to be penalized like this on a mobile computer.

I'm sure it goes quicker with a beer in your hand.. but it's a time out secondary to perceived equipment failure... so I doubt it's going to be changed easily..
