View Full Version : Excel - Make a Row "sticky"

I've got a spreadsheet with a lot of data in it and I want the first row (row A) to remain in place, whilst scrolling horizontally to view the other data. I have totally forgotten how to do this :(

highlight the row you want as a header...

window > freeze panes:thumbup:

ooh, ooh - i know this one! ... oh, too late.

freeze panes wins. just make sure you have cell A2 selected if you only want row 1 to be frozen. to freeze panes both horizontally and vertically, selecting cell B2 will freeze row 1 and column A in place ...

I do love this feature - I use it all the time in accounting and people in the class just look at me with amazement - "Whoooa! That's so cool! How do you do it?" hehehe
