Does anyone have any experience with setting up a Motorola KRZK K1 phone as a modem for MacOS X via Bluetooth?

I am interested in setting up my mobile as a backup internet connection coz iinet ADSL failed again today. I am contemplating getting dial-up as a backup line.

Any experience, fellow Mactalkers?

here's the best place to discover how to use your BT mobile as a modem...

http://home2.btconnect.com/Taniwha/

i've done it for a Siemens S55, Motorola V3 and my SE 880i

once you locate your modem scripts it'll be a bit trial & error as to which one works best, but it doesn't take long to figure out!

You do know you can use dialup with your iiNet login details right?

No extra charge to your account, just the cost of the local calls.

EDIT: It'll be a hell of a lot cheaper than GPRS too...

Yes. But the mobile is another back up route. Recent storms in Newcastle rendered some places with non-functioning land lines but functional mobiles. Don't ask me why but it did happen. Just another back up.

Cheers.

Please don't make the mistake of using dialup details via a mobile phone. You'll be getting speeds of 9.6kbps and you'll be charged per minute for the data call. Its much more expensive than gprs.

I meant use the details over regular landline...
