G'day

My TAM's keyboard has a stuck key. The Command key has just suddenly stuck.

(Or at least, it is becomming stuck very easily, and no easy to get unstuck).

The keyboard is the same as on I think a Powerbook 5500.

Do the keys simply prise off, or will I end up breaking them if I try to lift them off?

Any suggestions? Really seems someone wants me to buy a new Mac.

Thanks

Travis

Hi cosmichobo,

I couldn't find a service manual on the Apple support page (http://www.info.apple.com/support/manuals.legacy.html) for the 20th Ann. Mac. I did find this page, where they appear to have service manuals on CD - http://www.thehistoryofcomputers.com/items/2785435946.html

http://tam.axon.net/
The above is a website devoted to your machine, might have some info there.

:) Thanks for the help.
The "manual" is the same as what came with the machine - no actual real technical help.

And I found tam.axon.net in April 98, which is why I own my TAM, as that's how I found out about the $2000 firesale price.

I had dragged out my IIGS's "Apple Desktop Bus Keyboard" but the space button didn't work... eventually stuck the vacuum cleaner over the keys... and with a bit more "tapping" on the command key, it unstuck itself.

Still worried every time I hit a key now though that I'll have problems again.
