I need help!

I want a button in Filemaker - when clicked will create a new record and hiding all other records such that the new record will be the only thing on the screen.

I can't write an applescript todo this!

Can anyone help me - please?

Why would this even need Applescript???

Let me have a look, wait a minute.

I really don't see the need for Applescript, do you mean Filemaker's own scripting, then I ask what sort of layout are we talking about here?

As I would have thought a button to do 'Go to Record/Request/Page [ Next ]' would be all you need? Unless I am misunderstanding something about your problem?

Unless you want some other program to control FM via Applescript, not sure, as your question is vague.

thanks for that.

I have a record: name/class/comment/follow up

there are 4 buttons: search, new record, print, email

When I click on the new record button - a new record comes to the top but all other records are shown. I am working in the browse view.

I can not seem to find anything that will allow me to have the new record create a new record without all other records being seen.

Is this a FM thing or do I need an applescript?

I do appreciate your help.

If you are using table or list view, this will happen.

I suggest you use form view.

You certainly don't need to be using any Applescripts, but a few FM scripts do help.

Look at the examples they provide is another suggestion.
