Hey guys

Since I've downloaded the latest quicktime update videos are taking a very long time to open. They used to open instantly and now they take about 40 seconds (negligable difference if quicktime is already open or not).

This is with a Powermac G4 1.25Ghz with 2GB RAM running 10.4.10 and all latest updates.

Any suggestions on how to fix this?

I get this on my intel mac mini but the MBP is fine, as the mini is my home theatre its driving me nuts, since frontrow takes ages to scroll as it needs to open files for the previews on the left.

I just posted this on the Apple support discussion board as well and will post any answers I get here.

I was having the same problem opening .avi's on my MBP (iMac was fine). Updating Perian seems to have fixed it.
