A friend who uses an iPod and a PC (pour soul) has asked what me for apps that would effectively be PC equivalents of MacThe Ripper, Handbrake and Senuti.

Any recommendations for (freeware) PC versions of those 3 apps?

Thanks

A win32 version of Handbrake exists, but no where as good as the OSX version. Think it's a win32 binary and frontend for Windows. Do a google.

DVD Decrypter use to be the tool to rip VOB files from a DVD (but its since been abandoned due to legal reasons I think, although look hard and you will find a copy). Still found on mirror sites, just no longer updated.

Once DVD decrypter has done it's magic, Nero Recode is a really good application to then copy the ... linux distribution ... back to a single-layer DVD. It's bloody fast, too.
