Hi,

Beginners question -

Got some dvds I'd like to copy onto new empty dvds.
It's videos that I'd like to copy.

What's the best way to do this?

I've got the SimpleBurn software - do I use the 1:1 option? Copy the file(s) from the original dvd (which was dub from a friend to begin with), then insert the empty dvd in and, somehow, copy that?

I tried to just dump the folders from the original dvd onto my desktop and copy/ burn straight into the new dvd - OBVIOUSLY didn't work...

Comments and help very welcomed. Got a few I need to dub.

If they're not copy protected then Toast would do it.

Otherwise you need to MacTheRipper them (rip them to your HDD) and then Toast them (burn to disc)...:)

If they are already dubs, then they should not be protected.
Open disc utility,
highlight your dvd
click on burn
done

Yeah you're right - it is a dub.
opened disk utility - but the burn button is not clickable.

I think you need to make a disc image of the dvd first, then burn a copy of the disk image.

Or, with the video and audio folders you have already grabbed off the disc (or maybe obtained using mactheripper), you could create an disc image using DVD imager (http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/19456 (http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/19456)) to burn using disk utility
