What are the normal Macbook Pro Operating Temperatures under light use and high load?
What is the MAXIMUM temp before damage?
The internet is full of ranges that is all over the place.
How hot can it get and is that good for the components like ram, HD, battery, Logic board.

thx :)

I recall something about older Powerbook CPU's getting up to 80 degrees before the fan cut in. My MBP, sitting on an iCurve, has a CPU temp of 57 degrees.

Under normal use on a flat surface such as a desk probably anywhere from 50-70 depending on things like room temp etc.
Under high load it would probably be up in the 70's and maybe even 80's (although i have seen 90's)

If your worried about the temp get smcfancontrol and speed up the fans. I run mine at around 2500rpm all the time to keep the temp between 50-60 most of the time under light to medium load

Where do you get smcfancontrol from? And what would you class as heavy use? Does putting it on a stand really make a difference?
