MacNN has some screenshots of a video USA Today put which had some footage of the retail box for the iPhone. http://www.macnn.com/articles/07/06/27/iphone.retail.packaging/

Pretty average looking box, as far as boxes go.

(Oh dear, he's analysing the box the iPhone comes in now)

The only time the packaging is worthy of comment is when it's perfume isn't?:)
I've spent no time playing with my mac or ipod packages and boxes...

Yeah, it looks pretty plain, but then, isn't all of Apple's packaging overly simplistic?

Although I loved the black box my 15" G4 Powerbook came in.......

I wish the iMac came in a black box, the white box is a little too boring for my liking...

That said... who really cares? The box for my iMac is inslde the brown cardboard shipping box in my storage cage in the garage. I think i've laid eyes on the actual white box twice in the year i've had the iMac.....

......... sooo many dots.

Anyone who never opened an early iPod missed out on something special. The box was a cube which opened in half to reveal the contents. A design masterpiece (and it won awards for just that IIRC.)

More recently the packaging has been streamlined to save costs. Recent iPods no longer include a power adapter, and the slimmer boxes are cheaper to ship as well.

I would take an iphone in a brown paper bag with the requisite suspicious looks from onlookers if that's what it took. Hell, I'd even take my own recyclable bag to the shop myself :)

I still have mine!
Shame that iPod died ages ago though... but I've still got the cube box!
