He does a great job, you might want to subscribe to his video podcast (http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewPodcast?id=210818527). It's videos like that, every week.

I wish there was a version of Dave's videos without the "extra cheese". The first few minutes is like watching a lame Letterman skit :-p

(the actual review bit was excellent though!)

Nice... it's a pity it's got those downsides..

How long do you think it's going to take to get the battery replaced? And are you phoneless the whole time?

That bites...

On the upside, it looks very schmick!

Didn't take long, but two people in the States on IRC have stated the iPhone has been "modified" to allow other sim cards to be used. Wouldn't have thought it possible (as technically the phone has not been released over in the States yet until today), but it will not surprise me if this does eventually occur.

Yeah i don't buy that considering it hasn't even been released. It may happen eventually as you said but we know apple wont have made it easy

Not liking the battery thing. This isn't a toy, it's a business critical device.

After reading Pogue's faq in islayer's link, I don't seem to have that instant lust most people do with the iPhone. Don't get me wrong, its got some great features, but it also seems to be missing a lot as well. I'm looking forward to reading the standard reviews, rather than those made by Apple's whipping boys :-)

He raised an interesting point about 3G. Unless Apple know there are better 3G chips available in the next 6 months, don't hold your breath for an early 2008 release.
