Hi Everyone,

I would like to know what sort of Macintosh is this, all i have is the bar code,

F7252XVM0001ED

The only reason i ask is because it looks like a 128k mac but i have no proof.
I don't know how to read the Bar Code:(.
Thanks. :D

Well M0001 means that its an original Mac 128k. Does it say anything on the front, or does it just have an Apple logo?

Hi,

Just the Apple Logo, ;)

Then i'd say its an original Mac, unless on the back, at the top left it says "Macintosh 512k" or "Macintosh 512ke". If it just says "Macintosh" though, you've hit the jackpot. :D

But there's nothing at the back all it says is Macintosh 1Mb

What if this computer started out as a 128k but then got upgraded to a mac plus? <_<

If it says "Macintosh 1MB", it sounds like a Mac 512K upgraded to a Mac Plus - possible because the motherboards are the same layout, unlike that of a 128K. Or, it could well have been a 128K with a Plus motherboard with the rear shell replaced - with the original stickers having been transferred over

Had a look around and it appears some 512K models are M00001, do you have a pic of this machine?

The first Mac 128K just had "Macintosh" on the back of the case - when the Mac 512K was released, the casing was changed to say "Macintosh 128K". I've one of the latter, and it's model M0001 P.
