View Full Version : Unable to view keynote -- any suggestions?

Hey Guys,
I have been trying, over the last two days, to watch the keynote. All I get is the little window in quicktime doing its knightrider impersonation and saying that it is connecting. I have tried connecting a few ways, finding various links to it from various websites through various browsers -- they all end up the same.

Any ideas/suggestions on what to try? Or do I have to wait for the DVD? :)

sg

One of the other threads had links to a torrent.... that's how I got it (QT wasn't working for me either).

Last year I had the same problem trying to watch the keynote. After over a week of "connecting". At first I thought it was to many watchers. Finnally I called Apple and they sorted Quicktime out for me.

When I remeber what they did, I will post.......

This was mentioned in the other thread too... here was my reply:

I had the same troubles, but found a fix (that worked for me anyway):

Change the transport protocol from UDP to HTTP.

To do this go to Quicktime Preferences => then click on the Advanced tab => in the Transport Setup drop-down box select Custom => in the Transport Protocol drop-down box select HTTP => click OK button => done!

This worked for me anyway, loaded instantly.

Thanks for that!! It was definitely stalled on some "transport" thing.

I'm in Japan at the moment on a fibre optic connection and I can't get a good stream going with these download speeds:

That's why I turned to a certain demonic site to download the keynote.

This was how Apple tech support fixed my Quicktime issue last year.

Haha.

Every second business in Japan is Asahi-something. I believe the ISP was actually a spinoff of the Asahi newspaper business. I was with Asahi Net dialup then ISDN when I lived here before, but this time it's just the ISP contracted to the 'weekly mansion' I'm staying in.
