Speculation of a Macbook update tomorrow morning our time and five potential config options, up on the current three.

http://www.macrumors.com/2007/05/14/five-new-macbook-configurations-for-tues-may-15th/

http://www.thinksecret.com/news/0705macbook.html

What could the extra config options possibly be? A dedicated graphics card perhaps

Well, we've got three current configurations. I can't see them expanding on those very much. (there's only so many video options and superdrives you can add...)

New sized macbook and macbook pro (later). It'll be smaller imo. 2 configs. yay. :)

If they release a new model/version and its substantially better within 14 days of purchase Apple can at their discretion update your model at no extra charge.

This typically occurs when they release an OS but it has been known to happen with hardware as well.

I reckon it'll be the same as now but they'll add a black and a white 15" macbook

What I'd really like though would be a macbook with a dedicated GPU

I think they'll move towards integrating the Macbook/ Macbook Pro lines like they did with the iBook/Powerbook

I think they'll have 13"/15" macbooks with integrated graphics and 13"/15"/17" MBP with dedicated graphics, the 13" being this 'ultraportable' thats rumoured with no optical drive

I hope for a 12" powerbook replacement that's thin, light and very portable.

I tend to agree - two 15" MBs added to the line and just some speed bumps to the 13" range. Nothing to get excited about really, unless you're hanging for a 15" MB (I know I'm not).

I'd love to see dedicated graphics or the ultraportable, but the former is unlikely and the latter is a little before its time I feel.

Ohhh... I love this part.

I remember how I used to get mad that the store was down when I was looking for stuff - but that was before I knew that it meant new goodies!

I think you're close, but I'd go for $1599, $1799 and $1999.

And that's before edu discount.

Fark.

The prices (http://www.apple.com/au/macbook/) are 1599, 1899, 2199

Good price drops I reckon, almost make up for the lacklustre tech improvements
