View Full Version : Burning a number xvid .avi's to a dvd compilation

1st May 2007, 06:59 PM

I have a few ~250Mb .AVI files that I want to burn to a DVD. There's about 16 files.

The video codec is MP43 and the audio codec is standard 44.1Khz MP3, 192kbs stereo. The resolution is 352 x 264.

I don't want/need fancy menus or nuthin' - just to be able to skip between episodes I guess.

The files are on my XPsp2 PC, which has Nero 6 but no DVD plugins, but a DVD burner.
On my iBook, I have FFMPGX, iMovieHD and VLC and a combodrive.
On my eMac, I have iMovieHD and VLC.

Is there a solution? I don't mind getting 3rd party apps at all, but would prefer if they're free.

Thanks heaps, in advance

How do you have iMovie, but not iDVD? (Didnt your Macs come with iLife?)

Just make a Folder in the Finder (or just drop the .AVI files into the Burn DVD Folder) and burn.

Otherwise, use Toast. Never burned a Coaster either way.

If they're xvid/divx .avi's, use this program on your PC: http://download.videohelp.com/download/vsoDivxToDVD_setup_0.52.99.exe

It'll make a Video_TS folder which you can then burn onto a DVD (Not sure what program to use, my Macs don't have superdrives. :()

Found this the other day and it works a treat. :)

EDIT: I just realised that your PC does have a DVD burner. Therefore you can use this guide (http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/burning_dvd_with_nero.cfm) to burn them with Nero.
