View Full Version : Mobile Phone Choices:

Hey everyone...

I am after some thoughts on a decent mobile phone that integrates with my MBP. Currently I use a Motorola V3, and iSync works just fine. I can't believe how easily everything works with this Mac. I guess I am still getting used to it!!

One thing I cannot get working is SMS. This being the case, I am wondering what people suggest is a good mobile that will integrate well, and have SMS function. The only phone I have read about here is the K800i.

I am on the Optus network.

Thanks.... :)

The K800's definitely a popular choice. In general SE and Motorola handsets tend to play well with Macs.

If you can wait till early next year: the iPhone. What better handset to integrate with OS X than one running OS X?

if you want a great app that allows you to SMS from your Mac via your V3 (or any other BT phone) then try Blue Phone Elite (http://mirasoftware.com/BPE/) - it's not free, but imho worth the US$20, especially since they're working on "talk-thru"....use your Mac to talk thru your phone :)

Nokia 6131 works well. Please PM me if you have any questions about it.

What are the Palm Treos like? does anyone have one and if so, what are your thoughts? I'm at the end of my contract and i'm ditching m8 - and looking at a new provider and phone and am after something PDA as well.
