I'm looking to get a new mobile, just about everyone I speak to in the phone shops says that none of their phones are Mac compatible. When I look at the isync compatible devices it never seems to have the phones that I can get.

I'll probably change from Telstra to 3 to reduce costs, as coverage outside 3's city zone uses Telstra anyway. Has anyone recently found mac friendly phone that they can recommend?

I'm loving my Sony Ericsson K610i.

I got it just after the iPhone announcement, on a 12 month plan. ;)

edit: since 10.4.9, it syncs fine with addressbook and does the file transfers ok. Salling Clicker works on it too, so i can control my mac from afar.

http://www.apple.com/au/macosx/features/isync/devices.html should help you :)

so what phone WERE you looking into which isn't in that list?

The SE K800 isn't on that list, but is compatible. I'm guessing it's slightly out of date, so don't be immediately discouraged if the one you're coveting isn't there.

The Sony Ericsson W880i....very Mac friendly :)

just use SyncTunes (http://www.nesfield.co.uk/synctunes/) to get music from your iTunes onto the phone, since the inlcuded software is PC only.

The K610i isn't listed on there, Nokia 6288, Motorola V3xx, all the phones I've looked at on the '3' site.

I just picked up an O2 Atom Exec, and it syncs up fine using The Missing Sync app. (http://www.markspace.com/)

Given that it covers off on Palm, WinMobile and Blackberry phones, you're well covered in the PDA phone range.

Another vote here for SE phones. No issues at all with the ones I've had and syncing.

Nokia 6280/6288 isn't officially supported but with a simple modification of an iSync file it's supported perfectly. The USB function (mass storage mode) works too, but I think only in read-only.

Edit : oh, the bluetooth file exchange works brilliantly too.
