Just ran Camino as usual.
I got a message saying something like "Could not load bookmarks as they do not conform to the correct format".
Is there any way I can get my bookmarks back?
I have a backup on an external drive, but I'm not sure which file needs to be restored.
Hope someone can help.

Camino. Camino stores your bookmarks in this file:

~/Library/Application Support/Camino/bookmarks.plist

Many thanks for that.
Seems to be fine now.

When replacing the plist, there was a file called "Bookmarks corrupted".
Anyone know how this happens and how to avoid it?

I haven't used Camino much recently, though a couple of years back, it was my main default browser. Back in those days, certain Camino builds were well-known for bookmarks corrupting and other odd behaviour.

Perhaps look into a different build of Camino. And continue as you have been doing: backing up. Alternatively, check out FireFox. Like Camino, it belongs to the Gecko family of browers and one can get all sorts of neat plugins for it.
