okay okay.. i know it's been around for a while, but I dicovered today that running Pandora (http://www.pandora.com/) minimised in Sunrise Browser (http://www.sunrisebrowser.com/en/) (a stripped down native osx developers browser) uses a much smaller footprint than it does in Safari or Firefox.

Down from around 50% on my pbook to around 18%!! If you haven't tried it yet and find yourself getting sick of your iTunes and podcasts (like me) give it a go, high quality bitrate, no ads, surprisingly good tune choices..

I love it long time

You set a few 'Source Artists' and then give the thumbs up or down to thee tracks it plays to help it understand your tastes.

Covers everything from Classical to Breaks it seems.

oh, you'll need a US postcode also.
San Fransisco 94104 is a US postcode as a piece of unrelated trivia...

Pandora is excellent. Be sure to check out:

PandoraMan - http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/21464
PandoraBoy - http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/22756

Apps for running Pandora as standalone.
Not sure about the memory footprints for each - should be pretty low.
