Hi there,

I'm having trouble with my workflow ... seems pretty simple, so I have no idea why it doesn't work. This is my first time using Automator.
I want it to open up and print a whole lot of Preview images. My workflow is:

(from the Finder library) Ask for Finder Items (works)
(from the Preview library) Open Images in Preview (works)
(from the Preview library) Print Images (fails)

This is the error I get:
lpr: error - unable to print file: client-error-not-found (1)

I've tried different file types, and different printers and printing settings. I get the same error every time.

Can anyone help?

Thanks.

It sounds like it's having problems trying to find the printer itself. Are you running the printer driver through CUPS/GIMP printer drivers?

What is the full name of your printer?

Virtual Printer

It's a CUPS-PDF (http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/29368) printer

Hey, I just tried it with an HP Laser printer ... that worked.
But the point is that I want to batch print a whole lot of stuff into PDFs ... that's why I'm using CUPS-PDF. Mysteriously, there seems to be no "Print to PDF" action in the Automator.

Hey ... I think I figured it out.
Thanks for asking the right question, Clockwork!
It seemed to work on printers that didn't have spaces in their names.
I created the CUPS-PDF printer again, this time changing the name to VirtualPrinter.

Thanks!
