what is this thing it says its an aplle v.34 Commslot modem? any ideas as to what compy it goes into what speed etc, anyone want it?

the lc630 has a 'comm slot' it might be for that?

i have a 2nd ethernet card in my comm slot though

Hmmm, that looks like it might fit in a LC575, can anyone confirm?

Edit: Yeah, I thought it would, Apparently most of the LC's of the time had this type of comm slot.

did you check lowendmac and see if the 47 has a comms slot?

Definitely a modem. Those are Rockwell chips and it looks like it was approved by Australia Telecom in a style reminiscent of the "one phone monopoly for the entire nation" service.

Thats a 33.6 Commslot II modem for a late model (6360, 5400, 5500, 6400, 6500) PowerPC Mac Performa. It will NOT fit into a Performa x2xx, x3xx (except 6360) or any 68k. If you get a Mac with one of these installed, remove it. Stick an ethernet card in there instead....it won't slow your system down like the Commslot modem. If you NEED a modem on your Performa, you're much better off with a real, true blue hardware based one.
