View Full Version : iSight not working after Archive & Install

I was having issues with my new MacBook where it was failing to go into automatic sleep, whether it was plugged in or running on battery. After numerous troubleshooting steps (e.g. removing all peripherals, startup items etc) failed to resolve it, I decided to do an Archive & Install to try and solve it. The sleep issue seems to have been fixed, but now I can't use the built-in iSight - it was working perfectly before. Photo Booth tells me that it "cannot open because the camera is in use by another application" and all other programs I use with the iSight tell me that "there is no camera connected".

Anyone have any ideas or am I up for two installs in the one day?

Try restarting the macbook, and if that fails, try shutting down the macbook waiting a few seconds before turning it back on.

Thanks, leaving it off worked. I'd already tried restarting it and that had made no difference.
