Hi all,

I dont have 6pin firewire on my pc nor usb2 so was using the usb cable under 1.1 and it was very slow.

Just in case others had the same problems, i found the adapter required to use the same original Apple Firewire cable while only having firewire 4pin.

It is available at https://www.lindy.com.au/online/arrshop.exe...az=1&ai=1034637 (https://www.lindy.com.au/online/arrshop.exe?af=570&as=70395&az=1&ai=1034637)

Check it out it is only $10.99, i just ordered it now. USB1.1 takes too long to upload songs to the iPod, so hopefully this will fix the problem.

It's weird not having a 6-pin connector on your machine, the extra two pins provide power, so you can use external HDDs and charge your iPod without needing a power adapter.

I would say go for a combo PCI card that gives you some 6-pin firewire ports and a couple of USB 2.0 ports. It's a cheap way to future-proof your machine. Have a look on eBay or Google for "PCI USB Firewire"

Cheers :)
