View Full Version : Podcast alteration

Like others here I listen to ABC Radio National Podcasts.
Which I find very interesting
However they have a very annoying introduction and conclusion
around 12 seconds at the beginning
and 20 seconds at the end.

Now using iTunes I can tell the file to start and finish early.
But I have to do this manually to each file.

Does anybody know of an automated way to either mark the start and finish at the appropriate times
(automator doesnt seem to have the solution I need)

or edit the file and snip of the appropriate sections.

I would love to set it up so that iTunes would just do it... but I think Im going to need some program to achieve what Im after....

any ideas?

well it looks like no one has any ideas

for any programmers out there I think you might want to have a look at this...
with more podcasts getting ads and placing them at the beginning and/or end a simple audio cutting device would make things nice....

something in automator or applescript perhaps....

I was just playing around in Applescript.. err looking around... dont know how to play...

and I found player position in the itunes dictionary... I think that is the thing Im looking for..
