Glen McGrath has just scored his first half century in first class cricket from consecutive fours. It's taken him over 100 tests to achieve this.

Well done Glen.

And yeah the topic is wrong. I didn't mean Debut, I meant first.

I just got back from the game.... it was pretty awesome.
I'd say mcgrath's 50 got just as much cheering, if not more, than micheal clarkes century.
I hope they bat on tomorrow just for jason gillespie to pick up his 50, he's yet to crack a half-century in test cricket too.

What about the steve waugh-esque down-on-one-knee sweep for six !! I heard the 774 guys say that Mark Waugh and Mc Grath had a bet over 1000 bucks that he would never make a test 50.

Looks like he's just score a cool grand for his troubles as well !!!

And might I add that it was an absolute disgrace that Channel 9 went to the news before Melbournites could see it!

What the hell were they thinking!!!!

20th November 2004, 09:03 PM
yeah i was disapointed they did too.
channel 9 suck.

20th November 2004, 11:04 PM
yeah but what happened to the guy with the mullett
so close to scoring his 50 but decided to just block everything in the last over ;)

Gillespie (mullet) gets to try for his fifty tomorrow. It aint over yet.

20th November 2004, 11:47 PM
Yeah, watched the entire thing (until Channel 9 cut to the ****ing news a few balls before his 50...idiots).

Looks like his average is going to rocket up. I think it was about 6.5 before this match.

Did anyone see today's batting efforts? Quite good final score - i might consider going to the cricket this weekend - it's in adelaide, after all. :)

I been listening to it on the radio but I don't think i'll go. I work outside enough for me to appreciate Air conditioning on the weekends. :)
