Work is picking up the tab. I explained how my 3 year Dell (which I don't use much ) is heavy and crashes a lot. Didn't say it was a Mac just that it was suitable for my needs and cost $4100 inc GST.

So its a Macbook Pro 15.4" 2.GHz, 80gig drive, 1 gig ram etc, extra power adapter and APP.

I am happy now. So's my wife, she gets my 6month old PowerBook G4 12".

Time to celebrate. Wooo hoooo.

Just placed an order for a refurb MBP with APP to finalise my migration to intel platform.
Just could not resist: dual 1.83 Ghz, 1 GB Ram, APP for $2K (ish).

APP usually refers to 3year Apple Protection Plan, a good pickup with a refurbished machine, enjoy your new screamers...

*gulp* ... so a macbook pro WITH additional warranty for 2kish?? well its 1.83 ghz and has 1GB for RAM ... i would assume it has a SD and at least 80GB harddrive with a 128 VRAM?

that's an excellent buy then isn't it??

I would believe so. :) I know I would have bought it if I had $2000. :P

oh btw i've noticed that apple doesn't state the physical conditions of the refurbished systems (e.g. scratchs) ... are slight physical defects to be expected or do they replace the system chassis as part of the refurbishing process?

Yes, APP is apple care.

Just got my refurb  , no scratches or dents. Machine as good as new.

Got it from www.power.com.au on fire sale.
They had several 1.83 Ghz (now all gone), but they still have 2 Ghz and 2.16 Ghz models.

My transition is complete, with exception to G4 Sawtooth.
