Apple remote desktop wont activate on my intel iMac. I've upgraded to 10.4.7 and i've got ARD 3.

I can connect to any other machine on the network from my laptop (also 10.4.7) with ARD 3.

Only, this imac shows in my list as "ARD Inactive" and the iMac shows the binoculars in the menu bar as greyed out.

ARD is on in the Sharing prefs on both machines, and both have a network connection.

Just seems that ARD will not activate at all on the iMac for some reason???

Any suggestions?

Are both machine on the same subnet?

ARD won't work otherwise.

Though apparently there are ways, I just haven't looked into it yet.

I just know for a fact that a machine on 192.168.1.x subnet can't find a machine on a 192.168.2.x subnet.

Yes they are on the same subnet. And i can access machines on different subnets fine using ARD 3?
