I have an Epson Stylus Photo 1270 printer which has printed faultlessly for years from my old G4 Power Mac.
I have just installed a new Intel i-Mac 20" and downloaded the driver update (Gimp-print) from Epson Australia.

While I miss the familiar dialogue boxes of the original Epson software (the new interface has many confusing terminologies) the printer leaps to life on command and prints text OK in B+W but colour printouts produce a light green bias, particularly evident in the nuetral grey colours. Manipulating the CMYK sliders provided in the printer dialogue seems to have no effect.

I use my computer for commercial illustration using mostly Photoshop.

Anyone with similar experiences or possibly solutions. Are there other drivers available for this OS/printer combo?

It is possible that certain functions may be out of date - who can be sure? If you see here:

http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?ar...57#epsondrivers (http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=303057#epsondrivers)

It shows that the Stylus Photo 1270 - Gimp-Print, is included on the Mac OS 10.4.4 Tiger Installer.

To the colour problems, I would suggest playing with the Copies & Pages button, located under the Presets: Standard button, in your Print dialogue box, in order to fiddle about with the ColoySync & Quartz Filter buttons, as well as the Printer Features option.

cheers,
