View Full Version : Powerbook G4 Titanium

Hi hope someone out there can help me out with this one.

Yeah i know it is getting on a bit but it just keeps humming along, I have a 400Mhz G4 Titanium Powerbook and the actual keyoard on the laptop is starting to loose keys in that they are dropping off.

Can anyone suggest where i may be able to pick up either a secondhand keyboard or even individual keys if not the whole thing. Obviously free is better then paying but hey let me know either way.

On a side topic what is the maximum ram this will also run and where is good to get it from and pricing?

Thanks in advance.

I think that mac will still humm for another 5 years :-)

1. max ram is 1Gb and it's PC100 (or i guess cheaper PC133 that will clock down to PC100) the cheapest place is ebay trust me!
2. As for they keyboard try contacting some resellers in your area as they might have one you could get for cheap.

This url might help

Hope i could help

I tend to use Streetwise's mac memory selector as a starting point for finding new ram for older machines:

Not sure on the keyboard. eBay's always a chance...

Thanks for your help so far applecollector and Rubik i think i will give ebay a go tonight for the ram. the keyboard is proving harder though as i cannot seem to find any on Ebay in Australia.

I'd keep a close eye on Ebay for a second hand keyboard

I picked one up about a year ago for my old TiBook for only $2!!

Give Applebits a call - http://www.applebits.net/

They might have a spare one, but be prepared to pay through the nose for it :)

Send me a pm. The AppleCentre which I work at on Saturdays (well, until this Saturday) has a number of dead 400/500 TiBooks. I might be able to get you a keyboard cheap.

if you are interested, we can probably come to an arrangement where you can try before you buy.
