Expecting new arrival of white macbook soon. Any good lists on what to check for on arrival, eg sound, battery, wireless, camera etc. within first week to ensure all's good?

Also, I've got an old powerbook running tiger. How do I transfer all my files and non-Apple applications across?

Thanks

Use Migration Assistant when you first boot up your MacBook (it will prompt you if you want to use the Assistant). Have a firewire cable handy.

You can run the hardware test that comes on the system restores discs. That will test the hardware in the computer. It's better than nothing I guess :P

Well I've had one with a few keys on the keyboard that didnt work properly, and one where one of the speakers didn't work, so far.

3rd time lucky? Im half considering just asking for a refund and forgetting about the whole ordeal :)
