I recently went down to Megamart in Brisbane looking to pick up a job in the new apple section they've opened up. I was told that Apple supplied their own staff to support these micro-stores, and if I was wanting a job I'd have to contact apple.

I've had a quick look around the site in the employment section and can't find anything about it at all. With the aparrent rumblings that they'll be creating similar sections in all DJ's stores, with several in my area I might like to get myself trained up and ready for a job while I go through uni.

Does anybody know anything about this position?

From my understanding, Apple are supplying their own staff who:
a) Are very knowledgeable when it comes to Macs and
b ) Have been with the company for a while

I don't think they're hiring people for the positions. Not yet anyway. They can't afford to have a repeat of what happened the last time DJs and HN sold Macs.

Your best bet would be to try and score a job with a real Apple Reseller (ie: AppleCentre). They'll be getting busier this time of year too.

Cheers,
- Febs.

They have one down here in Megamart @ Chadstone and the people there seem to know both Mac and PC. Though the guy was more enthusiastic when telling people about the Macs.

When I get a free afternoon at some point I'll be sure to go in and ask the actual Mac Clerk there, rather than the plebian digital camera specialist.

well the ones I've talked to in Myer stores didn't seem to be anything special. Just your standard spout a lot of propoganda sales person.

Yeah, like the ones that read the box when you ask them a question.
