Take a read of this: http://www.osnews.com/story.php?news_id=3997
You'll then realize it's difficult to give you an answer that makes any sense.

The short answer is, the speed of the machine is relative to the optimisation of the software. Altivec-optimised software will run seemingly like a Pentium of 3x the speed, whereas badly ported games will run like a dog.

At the end of the day, for me, I don't care too much what the specs of the machine at question is. With Mac that is. I know that whatever the machine (except the G3 iBook :P ) will run fine.
With PC's on the other hand, I tend to make more of an effort on the quality of the components rather then their specs.
