Is there any way to get your Mail app to sync with an MS exchange server? This is for the benefit of a friend who's just switched to a 14" Pbook.

Is he able to use mail or is something like entorage required?

Apple Mail works perfectly with Microsoft Exchange servers.
These two sites may be of some use:
http://www.rit.edu/~wwwits/services/email/...l_exchange.html (http://www.rit.edu/~wwwits/services/email/setup/setup_applemail_exchange.html)
http://campus.umr.edu/cis/desktop/document...3/osx_103_mail/ (http://campus.umr.edu/cis/desktop/documentation/mac/osx_10_3/osx_103_mail/)

It's how to set up a uni account for use in Mail, but if you substitute the server names with your server names, the process is the same.

hello everyone
i am using 10.4.2 and mail 2.0.2
i would like to use mail instead of entourage to connect to my exchange server at work
entourage works perfectly but i can't get mail to connect at all
mail asks for all sorts of settings
entourage seems to configure itself
mail complains that "the server cannot be contacted on port 993"
any ideas?

I am using mail as the exchange client at work. If you don't have access to your sysadmin to get all the settings, use entourage to get the exchange settings and then ditch it!

the problem is : there are hardly any settings in entourage
it seems to autoconfigure
