The new 'Virtue' virtual desktop manager is a 'must' download. Also is a Universal Binary.

“Virtue” is a virtual desktop manager for Mac OS. It offers features, eye candy and configurable options that no other desktop manager on the mac has added yet, and is under active development. It is based upon DesktopManager, which is a lighter, less feature-packed virtual desktop application.

I'm there, one thing I used in linux that I have missed in os x is multiple desktops. I will download tonight and have a look.

Just in case anyone is interested in alternatives, I use the open source Desktop Manager (http://desktopmanager.berlios.de/) with great success. It is further along than an alpha build, and I have yet to have a problem with it. Don't know about universal binaries though.

Had a little play around with this as I thought the idea sounded interesting.

It could be very handy when it comes to speeding up my workflow, so I'm gonna keep toying with it.

Apple should definately think about putting this feature in Leopard.
