I did a restore of the system software on the MacBook Pro, but even though I told it to install the entire iLife suite, it didn't install iPhoto, iDVD and iMovie.

I have explored the DVD via the terminal, as you can't browse it via the Finder. When running an .mpkg (iPhoto.mpkg) via the terminal (typing in - open iPhoto.mpkg, which launches Installer in the Finder) for example, I just get this error popping up:

There is no iLife installer, just seperate installers for each of the iLife components.

Does anyone know how I can install them off the restore disc without doing a total re-install of OS X?

Normally there is an installer for "Additional Applications" or similar

Try using the Install DVD or possibly an iLife DVD is in your packaging.

I am using the Install DVDs that came in the box. There is no seperate iLife 06 disk in the MacBook Pro box.
