View Full Version : Imovie crashing on Intel Imac

One of the reasons that I switched to Mac was the apparent ease of use regarding cameras and video cameras.

I have a 20" Intel Imac with all software updated.

Imovie crashes when launched. Therefore, no way to import video.

Any suggestions? As I'm new to this don't assume that I have done what looks obvious!

Thanks in advance.

I've been gagged by Currawong on this topic, as he knows best!

have you checked compatability with the cameras, some cameras are not supported and might be the cause, (im assuming youve launced imovie when you plugged in cam)

Ok, rather than take the guesswork advice posted above, lets see if we can't find the actual cause of the problem.

First, in /Applications/Utilities is a program called the [b]Console[/url]. Open this up, it will probably show a bunch of weird messages, some of them errors. Then try running iMovie. The console will update with more messages, including the reason for iMovie crashing.

Something I might ask, is the iMovie on your computer the one that came with your computer or one from an iLife DVD that you bought separately?
