long story short, he wanted to update ncurses or somehting like that because he needed a newer version so they cound install a program. it woundt update so i told him to uninstall and then doa clean install of it. he told me nothing of what he was doing only that it was rpm based, so i told him to uninstall with rpm you use -e modifier.

***Transaction Summary
*** ================================================== ===========================
*** Install 0 Package(s)
*** Update 0 Package(s)
*** Remove 310 Package(s)

when i saw that i asked him what he uninstalled but i didnt think he did it right anyway now he has to reinstall etc.

i beleive he did rpm -e and not rpm -e "packagename"
either that or rm -rf /bin

so funny

Are you saying that you helped someone in Apple, who is running an important server, is so incompetent that they hosed their own server?
