View Full Version : Safari in Tiger & vBulletin - rendering problem

14th March 2006, 06:05 PM
I have an issue which I am wondering if anybody else has encountered and has a fix for it.

Ever since I installed 10.4.3 (new install) I am haivng problems when using vBulletin sites in Safari. It is not every time I view a page but enough to be annoying. Upgrades through 10.4.4 & 10.4.5 have not changed this.

What happens is that the page in the forum that I am viewing will often fail to load or render properly. Replies in threads are often nested inside other replies (no these are not as a result of people quoting). Pages only sometimes half load, a refresh loads the page correctly.

This only happens with Vbulletin sites. I have no problems with any other sites at all.

Any thought or suggestions would be appreciated.

What version of Safari? What screen res? can you take some screen caps and can you post the links to some of the sites so I can have a look?

screen caps would be helpful. So far it works fine on my iMac G4 and PowerBook 12"

Whenever I visit vBulletin sites I can almost gaurantee it will happen. The 3 screenshots happened within about 5 minutes of starting to browse the site.
I can't fault anything else except the combination of Safari & vBulletin. All these sites browse fine in Firefox.
All other sites browse fine in Safari, never have any other problems. I am confident it is not a network issue as it never happens on other sites.

failed page loads are common: http://users.on.net/~warrickv/test/noload.png
failed render: http://users.on.net/~warrickv/test/render.png
another failed render: http://users.on.net/~warrickv/test/rendera.png

Hope this might help
