I'm using a 15" PowerBook, and I was wondering if it was possible to allocate only some function keys to their hardware function. I want to be able to use Exposť without having to push fn-# to do it because these are reserved for the keyboard backlight. So essentially, I want to be able to use the volume and brightness controls without pressing Fn, but at the same time, I want to be able to use F8-10 software functions without pressing Fn.

you should be able to change those function in preferences.

You can set it to use the function keys entirely for software OR hardware features at one time by pushing the Fn Key. I was wondering if you could have some allocated for each.

Wow, I just realized you and I started a thread about the same thing. My thread is http://forums.appletalk.com.au/index.php?showtopic=17659

Maybe they should be merged.

Anyhow, I have found a temporary fix, which is enabling the F1-F10 keys to be function keys and then using Keyboard Maestro for sound and screen brightness. This isn't the best solution, however and believe it can be solved properly.

so..
ANYBODY......PLEASE.......HELP US!!!!!!!
