I am buying a 14" ibook next week.

I am just wondering about the default installation of Tiger.
I know that it will have a whole heap of things that I wouldn't install if I was self installing tiger (like languages and printer drivers).
These things could tally up to at least a Gig.

Is it worth reinstalling tiger, or is there a way of unistalling components from Tiger?
I want to do this before putting to much junk on the computer.

Thanks in advance

I'd reinstall it using custom method. It's worth the time and effort.

As i recall there is a freeware (or possibly shareware) app that allows you to uninstall languages. I can't remember the name though a google search will probably turn it up.

by reinstalling, do you mean wiping the whole drive, or just the OS?
Because the preloaded goodies on the ibook won't come with the OS X install.

Last new Mac I saw (my mum's old colourful imac) came with the system disk and then a restore disk.

Do the ibooks do the same?

You might be thinking of Monolingual or Delocalizer
