View Full Version : Powerbook G4 15" 1.67 DL - Keyboard and Trackpad Discolouration

There is an orange coloured discolouration 'all over' the front row of keys and the trackpad and I'm wondering if anyone knows what it is and how to get rid of it? I'm assuming it has been caused by sweaty fingers using the keyboard and trackpad over time, but I've tried everything from soap and warm water to rubbing alcohol and it won't come off! Any ideas? Some might say the 'finish' has rubbed off and the 'orange' is the base metal showing through, but this can't be because its aluminium, not silver spray paint on a base metal, and aluminium is aluminium i.e. it can't 'rub off'. I don't want to go the route of buying a whole new upper case and keyboard because that would cost more than to buy another Powerbook. Apart from the keyboard and trackpad the Powerbook is in pristine new condition.
