I found Mavericks slow after upgrading from Mountain Lion. Then I had trouble with the RAM crashing my system so I threw out all four 2GB sticks and put in 4 4GB sticks and with 16GB it flew. It's an i7 2.8 GHz with ATI Radeon 512MB Graphics card. I like keeping up to date with operating systems. But anyone who has one of these iMacs are you having any issues with Yosemite?

A very decent system like yours + 16GB RAM = it'll run very smoothly on your iMac

I have it on our late 2009 21.5 inch iMac and as a clean install it runs very nicely :)

I have it running on a late 2008, 13" MacBook without a problem in the world, perhaps even improved recently.

Thats funny... I put it on the same computer, and now it boots fast but once booted, its as slow as molasses... safari takes at least 3 minutes to load. I tested disk speed and its reading 20mb/s instead of the 60 or so it should be. I have no idea why!

I have a feeling that the HD may be on its way out...

Put it on and it flies. Definitely faster than mavericks

Two questions... do you have a mechanical hard drive? And 2, did you do a clean install or a upgrade?
